Virtual Concepts Technical Support Board

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about using the message board.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?

No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message. The maintainer of the script has the option of allowing or disallowing any HTML in the Message part of your posting. If they disallow it, the script will just throw out everything in <>'s. If they allow it, your html markup will appear in the posting. It can't hurt to try.

Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?

Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document. The owner of the WWWBoard can decide whether they wish to enable or disable the quoting of previous messages.

Why didn't my post show up?

Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.

Where can I get the scripts for this program?

The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. Enjoy!

Who is Virtual Concepts?

Virtual Concepts is an online computer store located in Muskegon, MI, USA.  Virtual Concepts custom builds VIRCON Computer Systems as well as sell over 100,000 hardware/software/peripheral items.  You can visit our web site at: http://dejanet.com/vc.

Why is this Technical Support Board here?

The Technical Support Board is here to offer customers of Virtual Concepts, as well as all other computer users out there, a place to ask questions and get answers.  The VC Tech Support team attempts to answer many of the questions as well as any of the viewers who have an answer or can offer some help to someone else.

Can I click on reply, post a blank message, and expect an answer?

NO!  Please do not do this.  This seems to happen not only here, but on other support and driver boards.  DO NOT DO THIS.  No one will reply, and no one will send an answer or driver to your email address.  All you are accomplishing is to waste space and time on the board.  If you reply to a post, ask a question or give more info relating to the original post - otherwise, simply do not bother wasting our time as well as the other users of this board.  Also, plesae read ALL THE POSTS relating to the post you are to reply to.  In many cases, people are asking the same question that an answer has already been posted for.

Where are the main driver files located?

All drivers provided by Virtual Concepts are located on the main web site here:  http://www.dejanet.com/vc/drivers.htm

Why does it take awhile for VC Tech Support to answer my post?

Quite simply becuse this is a free technical support forum offered by Virtual Concepts to all users anyhwhere.  Our customers as well as any other user anywhere who has a question can post here.  Tech Support is offered to our direct customers via a different method and are always answered first.  Then, when we have free time, we also attempt to answer the questions that we can here.  Keep in mind, VC Tech Support is not the only one to answer questions here.  The intentions of the board is for EVERYONE to help each other out.  Anyone may reply to a post on the board and give an answer.  If you can help someone out, go for it!

Can I E-Mail the VC_Tech Support E-Mail Address Directly With My Question?

NO!  DO NOT DO THIS!  Post your question to the Tech Support Board ONLY. Maybe someone (possibly VC Tech Support or possibly someone else) will attempt to answer it if they can and when they can.  The Tech Support Board is here for a reason - that reason is for the questions and answers to be read by all who come here - saving time for all.  Replying direct via email for each question takes way too much time from us - especially if we have to repeat things over and over for similar questions.  If you are a DIRECT CUSTOMER of VIRTUAL CONCEPTS, and your question is regarding a in warranty related item, then you have other means of contacting us for direct help that has already been given to you at the time of your purchase.  As a customer, you may also use this board if your question does not need immediate help or the speed of response is not an issue for you.
