Check the inital boot up screen for the BIOS id.

Press the PAUSE/BREAK jey and read the ID string at the bottom. A newar the topmay also give away the motherboard model number.

Go into the BIOS and make sure the Serial Port you have the mouse on is enabled.

Also, check that the cable is connected to the motherbaord correctly (red stripe goes to pin #1).

Also, try another mouse.

As for RAM, you may need to set a jumper or the RAM is not paired compatible. Try oter RAM.

You really need to ID the mobo.

: i HAVE A 560 OR A 571 BY THE PIC IT LOOKS LIKE A 572 I CANT GET THE MOUSE TO WORK AT ALL I HAVE TRIED SEVERALAND NO GO. MY BE A SERIAL PIN OUT WRONG???.aLSO I HAVE 4 8MB SIMMS IN AND IT ONLY SEES 16 MB RAM I HAVE MOVERD THEM ALL OVER IN DIFFERENT COMBOS AND STILL ONLY SEES 16 MB. HELP !!!
